Derek and I celebrated Halloween all month this year. We never made it to Staheli Farm, or Thriller at Tuacahn, but nonetheless we definitely got our Halloween “fix” in.
Since we had our own home this year, I started the month off by decorating. I think the best way to get in the holiday spirit is to decorate! I didn’t want to spend too much money on decorations, but I found some cute (cheap) things here and there. It was just enough to make our home feel “Halloweenie” without breaking the bank!
I knew I wanted to somehow celebrate the holiday at our home, but I knew that most of our friends would have other plans on the weekend of Halloween. So, we decided to have a pumpkin carving/BBQ at our house earlier this month.
I have always wanted to have a home where I can celebrate the holidays with the people I love most. It was so fun to be the host and celebrate with them! I wish I would’ve taken pictures of us and our friends, but I promise they do exist. I wouldn’t have been able to carve all of those pumpkins myself. 😉
When it came to costumes, we procrasinated this year. We didn’t even think about our costumes until last Wednesday. I am usually on top of it and have a million ideas of what I want to be, but this year, I didn’t even think about it until last minute. We ended up going to the costume store and buying pirate costumes. We loved them! Plus, my inner emo heart loves Derek with eye liner. (hahah)
On Saturday, we celebrated Halloween with a lot of our friends at Garrett’s house. I love the holidays because it gives us all an excuse to get together and celebrate.
On Sunday night, we went to Demi and Austin’s engagement/costume party. It was so fun celebrating these two love birds and having an excuse to dress up again.
I feel like Halloween has lasted all month, and that’s exactly what I hoped for this year! I am a big lover of holidays. There isn’t many things I love more than spending time with friends and family and having an excuse to celebrate!
Now we are off to dress up (again) and possibly spend time with family. We have had a very Happy Halloween this year, I hope all of you do as well!
Onto the next adventure, Wren
