Happy 3 years, Love

Today marks 3 years since Derek and I vowed each other personal promises in front of our closest family and friends. 3 years since I took his last name, and officially became family. 3 years since he became my husband, my partner through life, and the person I share my heart with.

We were together for almost 6 years before our wedding date, but being married to him has exceeded all of my expectations and more. The last three years have been a crazy, beautiful adventure. They’ve been filled with celebrations,(a little bit of) growing up, dance parties, and way too many laughs. It has been an absolute dream being Derek’s wife, and everyday I am in awe of how much better it keeps getting. My life always feels like a romantic comedy and marriage is everything I ever hoped it it would be and so much more.

Thanks for watching!

Travel Diary |Costa Rica

Hola friends, welcome back!

I know, I know, another post on the beautiful country of Costa Rica. I promise I will stop soon. 😉

This is one of my favorite travel videos I have ever made. I had so much fun capturing these little moments, and putting them all together. I’ve probably watched this video 60 times since I finished it a couple days ago, and I am not even ashamed.

It makes me nostalgic, it makes me happy, and it makes me so grateful for this life I’m living, and that is the exact reason why I make these.

Also, I decided to post this video that our friend, Hoku, made from our trip. Just don’t compare it to mine. 😉 He’s amazing at what he does! You can find him on Instagram @hokucurnan

Thanks for watching!

Highlights of China Video

Today marks one month since we’ve been back from China, and the fact that my days once looked like this still feel like a dream. Even though it’s been bittersweet readjusting back to reality, I know that I will always feel a sense of happiness and gratitude when I reflect on these life changing experiences, memories, and people who filled the most rewarding four months of my life.

Thanks for watching!

Highlights of 2017

To say that this year was life changing and amazing would be an understatement. In 20 years, I know that I will look back to the good old days and think of this year and this time in our lives. 2017 was all about following dreams, spending time with the greatest people, adventure, change, growth and soaking in every little moment of these “good old days.”

Here’s to more new beginnings, more change, more growth and of course more adventure. I can’t wait to see what next year brings.

Happy New year!

Our kids of China

It’s been an emotional couple days having to say goodbye to these 100 kids who have filled our hearts these last few months. Derek and I are so proud of all of them and knowing that we won’t ever see them again breaks our hearts.

These kids are so smart. They attend school 12 hours a day, six days a week. They have taught us so much, and even know they probably don’t realize it, we look up to them in more ways than one.

They will always have a special place in our hearts.

Memories in Yangshuo

You know those type of days that make you fall in love with being alive and every single thing around you makes makes your happiness grow a little more? The weekend that we traveled to Yangshuo was filled with days like that. I will be going into detail about our peaceful time in Yangshuo in a later post, but to sum it up… and since it is November, here are three things I am thankful for.

1.Strangers who grow into friends

2. Having the ability to see and explore the beautiful places this world has to offer

3. Being able to capture, share, and look back on the little moments that I hope to remember forever

Thanks for watching and onto the next adventure,

Wren

First month in China

It’s been just over a month since we’ve lived in china, and I am in awe every single day. By this culture, by the people, by the views, by the fact that I’ve gained a sense of comfort in this place so different from home. I am amazed at the person I’ve grown into in just one month, the person Derek has grown into, and how much we have have grown together. And I am astonished that we still have another three months here.

I don’t have many words to describe the happiness I currently feel, all I know is that if I could give anyone advice at the moment it would be…  Buy that plane ticket, throw yourself into uncomfortable situations, immerse yourself in a new culture, befriend strangers, see the world. And most of all follow your dreams. Do it with someone you love, or don’t. Be happy with your decisions, regardless of other people’s opinions. Forget the rest.

We love you China, happy one month!
